I wonder...
In light of today's event, it got me thinking. Who came out on top as a result? Or is there even a "winner" as maybe both did? I'm wondering about this because of recent events. Maybe it's a wakeup call that we need. We've always thought we're in the clear, saying how if Americans are visiting overseas, they would pretend to be Canadians; however, one must remember how often we mock them for their decisions and/or actions... In short, I believe we're comforting ourselves based on their actions, yet it's their actions that we jest. I guess I'm a bit paranoid, but considering how close we came to nuclear war at least once and the type of pathogens that were (and possibly still are being) created and manufactured, we sure don't think much about the big picture. (And if you know the numbers possible, you'd probably be a bit freaked too.) Basically, I'm trying to say that we've already achieved the means for some devastating effect and we need to look outside our shell.
Anyway, today's event put the public on edge, but I guess on the bright side, it can also be viewed as a way to give emergency personel (and perhaps the public) practice. But with that being said, one might also, and probably should, consider why it did happen. Well, I'll leave it at that for now lest I'll be mocked along with analysts who discuss vulnerable targets...
